Development leaders understand the power of data to show impact and unleash giving (it's been said "data = dollars"). Google Analytics is awesome for this purpose, but it can be unwieldy and inscrutable to the uninitiated. How do you know where to quickly find what you need? How do you share a snapshot of a certain metric with stakeholders? How do you make sure everyone's looking at the same data -- particularly when it's actively changing? This masterclass addresses these issues. Bring your development, communications and evaluation team and leave with knowledge to use a tool that turns data into informational, easy-to-understand reports through data visualization. It's like Analytics meets Powerpoint, using Google Data Studio. Previously a paid premium feature, Data Studio is now free with all the power it has to offer. Learn how to use it to pull data through Google Analytics, Facebook, spreadsheets, or large datasets -- and inspire your stakeholders to take action! The class will:
* Go from 0-60 on analytics fundamentals and terminology,
* Speak briefly to the broader landscape of marketing automation and digital marketing strategy,
* Talk generally about the power of analytics in planning and growing your web presence,
* Focus on Data Studio to build a dashboard that is meaningful and attractive, and
* Explore other dashboard technologies like Databox, and middleware connectors like Segment.
Participants will receive a Google Data Studio template that their website data will populate, and gain an understanding of how to extend it for their own use. Please note: participants will be asked to complete a brief survey prior to the masterclass in order to optimize the class.
